ffolliet has been my nickname for many years. A Surgical Chief gave me this nickname a long time ago. It’s a Welsh forename, pronounced “fall ee ete”, and yes, spelt with a double ff, and in lowercase.<\/span><\/p>\n

In real life, I’m a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon working at The Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Sheffield, England. There, I specialise in Surgical Oncology, Neonatal Surgery and Trauma. And, I do a fair amount of teaching, mentoring and giving presentations too.
\nI saw how valuable presentations can be in education, management and research but also how ineffective they usually are.<\/p>\n

I long for the world to lay down the weapon of bullet points and embrace creative and engaging presentations. You can read about <\/span>my journey into presentations<\/span><\/a> here.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I give talks on my thoughts about presentations and the p cubed concept all over the world, and I\u2019m so grateful. I lead presentation workshops locally, nationally and internationally, and I’m currently working up a book on presentations.<\/span><\/p>\n

I’m proud to be a Visiting Lecturer at the Virtual Hospital of St Emlyn’s<\/a> in Virchester, to which this site is affiliated. As part of the FOAM community, we believe in the concept of freely sharing medical education.<\/p>\n

Outside all of that, I struggle to keep fit, cycle a bit and do the odd triathlon. I’m a father, singer, laugher, learner, sharer, blogger, thinker and much more.<\/p>\n
